Water was collecting in the upper part of our fridge, just below the top-mounted freezer. We called The Appliance Guy based on the high rating of customers in HomeStars. Joe came the same day as our call, and efficiently diagnosed and cleared a plugged drain line. He made custom modifications to increase the heat available to the drain to inhibit the reformation of a blockage. During the repair process, I observed Joe's methodical approach and professionalism. At the same time, we chatted about his extensive experience and changes that have occurred in appliances, and their repair, over the years. He communicated clearly as he explained in some detail the nature of our present problem and the chance of a recurrence. The fee for his service was quite reasonable. In summary, Joe deserves to have such a high rating.

Our fridge was going on and off and we weren't sure why. Joe came and diagnosed the problem within minutes - and fixed it. His rates were fair and he is pleasant and professional. I would strongly recommend him.

I called The Appliance Guy after our older top-load washing machine stopped spinning. Joe came by the next day and fixed it quickly for a reasonable price. This guy's a real pro - congratulations on a well deserved 'Best Of 2009'!

My gas dryer broke down in the middle of a messy renovation. I called Joe in the morning, he was here by 3 pm even though Monday is his busiest day. Unfortunately the news was not good, but I wanted to comment anyway. Joe was a pleasure to deal with, polite, knowledgeable, apologetic for the bad news...he made an extra effort to do something else for me to make the installation of a new dryer easier. I appreciated his quick arrival (sense of urgency) and his efforts. Thanks Joe!!!

A gentleman. Not too intimidating, reasonable, helpful. Joe did what others would not touch, ie. fixed simple electronic problem that saved us lots of money and reversed fridge door. He is busy and justifiably proud of his work and reputation.

We had a leak with our dishwasher. We were not sure what the source of it was so we found "theapplianceguy.ca" online and after reading a review on this review website, I spoke to a person named Joe. He came right over and found that a gasket became loose. In an hour he fixed it and all was perfect. I would highly reccommend this company.

We had a problem with our washing machine last night. I called Joe this morning and he stopped by in a couple hours. His experience and insight saved us a lot of money by avoiding us the trouble and costs to replace the washer. Once here, he also fixed our mini fridge and didn't charge extra for it, only the part costs. Not ever calling anybody else. Joe is the man. Thanks a lot, Joe.

I called Joe and within a few hours he was at my home fixing a grill that had recently stopped working. He took apart the appliance. After saying what he thought was the mostly likely problem and its solution, he put in a replacement part which he fortuitously had in his truck. This was all done within 30 min! Excellent service and solid workmanship.

Joe got to our house within 24 hours of first talking to him - and our oven is good as new! The inner glass on the door was cracked, and he not only had the part in stock, but was able to come by and get it fixed right away. He even gave me a chance to clean the inside of the glass while he took the door apart, and was a very friendly guy. He also had stock on a more minor fix and got it done while he was here - the switch for the oven light. For the glass, switch, and about an hour of his (and his younger apprentice's) time, we spent under $250 - not bad! I'll definitely call him back if/when something else breaks.
