Front walkway
Answer from pro:
Trico Homes takes all feedback seriously. A drain pipe across the sidewalk is very common and often required due to the roof line and the way water flows off the roof into the eavestroughs/downspouts. We have spoken with our trade contractor to ask if there is another location but unfortunately there is not. In order to avoid over flow of eavestroughs the downspouts must be located as demeaned by the siding contractor. We understand that ice can build up in this area so it's important to use ice melt. The ice melt that you use should be a product that does not damage concrete. We recommend a product called "Chemfax". Also, when you are completing the landscaping you can install a french drain that goes under the sidewalk. This will help reduce the amount of ice but doesn't always eliminate 100%. Unfortunately due to the climate we live in ice on driveways and walkways need to be managed daily. We understand your concern and will continue to work with our contractors to find other solutions in the future. Thank you for purchasing a Trico Home. Please do not hesitate to contact the warranty department at anytime. Nicole Walker, Customer Relations Manager
