    Fixed Toilets

The fine people at WaterWorks came to my condo early on a Saturday morning just as they said they would. Larry showed up on time and was extremely professional. He quickly diagnosed the issues, told me the costs and completed the work like the expert he is. There were no surprises and everything was done in an efficient and tidy manor. I would recommend Larry, Michael and the WaterWorks team to my closest friends and relatives. Thanks!

    Answer from pro:

    Plumbing Consultation - Clogged Toilet

My interactions with the company have been fairly reasonable, from start to end. The office administration is very efficient and effective, sharing the plumber's picture in advance, and calling both before and after the visit, to ensure that things went well. In addition, Larry (the Plumber) from Waterworks come by on Friday morning, on time. He proved to be very knowledgeable and competent, and understood the problem immediately, and was able to suggest a number of solutions. However, I was somewhat disappointed by the recommendation, as (what I thought would be a simple drain unclogging/snaking job) was being suggested as a toilet replacement. Nonetheless, Larry's advice and expertise was greatly appreciated. What I did find somewhat startling was the price of the potential service - the snaking was being listed as approximately $250, which seems extremely expensive. Overall - happy with the service visit and their recommendation, and would recommend to others.

    Replace kitchen faucet

Larry came in on time for the appointment. He was very professional and knows what he is doing. I had some leaks under the kitchen sink and decided to replace the entire faucet, with a standard one that I had purchased at Home Depot. Job took about 1 hour and looks like it has been done well, no problem so far. I just thought it was a bit pricey at 415$ HST included, but other than that it's fine.

    Replacing lead pipe

This company is terrible - stay away. We chose this company based on the homestars ratings on this site. Based on these high recommendations we agree to pay them 59$ for their visit with the knowledge that they would take the 59$ off the final bill. We did this because we fully expected them to perform well The city of toronto is putting in meters so we were asked to replace 10 cm of pipe that would allow for the meter to be installed. We had waterworks come out and the plumber told us it would be 375 to replace the 10 cm of pipe in a exposed area of our basement. We thought this was a little high but we had already paid the 59$ so we decided to proceed. When the technician was there he spent 15 min inspecting the area. When he came up from the basement we asked is there lead pipe a he said "no" and we were relived. We booked the job for 2 days later When the technician arrived 2 days later he walked in the door and immediately apologized "I'm sorry I know I gave you a quote for 375$ but its going to be 750$ I made a mistake on the pricing list " we were naturally upset and stunned. In our stunned silence the technician made his way to the basement - my husband and I didn't have even a moment to discuss what was happening when 2 min later he cam up the basement stairs and said "you have lead pipe and you'll need to replace it - we can't do the job today" Again stunned silence - he suddenly noticed lead pipe in the 2 min he was down there that he had not noticed in the lengthy inspection he had done just 2 days ago??? Ok so we ask how much is that going to cost? He looks in his reference book and says "8700"" Now we are really upset and we say we will of course need to get more quotes - he says fine and leaves Since we have had 4 other companies come in ( none of which charged us 59$ just to be there) we have to following quotes: 1700, 2000, 2100, 2400. These are all from top rated companies also on homestars - obviously there is a huge discrepancy between 8700 and 1700!!! This company is awful - beware of them they will try to take advantage of you

    Answer from pro:

Dear Kimberly, We're am sorry we couldn't help you with your plumbing problem, but to be fair, we are not a terrible company because we couldn't end up helping you. If you've read our numerous positive reviews and see what other people are saying about our company, you would understand that we try to make sure our clients are happy with the service we provide. If we were as bad as you are trying to make us sound, there would be far more comments like your posted on this site. There were technical mistakes and wrong assumptions made on your job based on a very unusual plumbing situation. Your water service was hooked up and covered by a rubber hose so we couldn't tell what the water service material was made of. What you failed to mention in your review was that, given we came to understand that we had made an error on the quote, we ended up giving you EVERY PENNY back that you had given to us. We didn't create the problem you had in your home. The city water meter program created the problem, plus the fact that your home was purchased with an existing lead water service that you either did or did not know about. All in all we understand that you were frustrated by finding out that your plumbing problem was a much bigger issue than you than you had anticipated, but your review seemed quite mean spirited and I'm not sure that the time we both spent on this warranted that completely negative response. Again, we are sorry we couldn't help you and we wish you good luck and we hope you are able to resolve your problem. From all of us at Waterworks.

    backup sump pump

This is the 2nd time we have used Michael from water works they are reliable and dependable and had the part we needed right on the truck. I would highly recommend Michael and his team. The back up sump he installed actually worked last night when the power went off. We were very happy to hear it turn on. Thanks again Michael Alan M

    Clogged kitchen sink

Overall I'm very impressed with Waterworks as a whole. Both Natasha and Larry were professional, courteous, and pleasant to deal with. I will definitely call them back for any future plumbing issues. My kitchen sink became clogged and would take an hour to drain. I made an appointment with Waterworks to have someone come in an clean it out. I spoke with Natasha who arranged the appointment and later sent an email photo of Larry the day of the appointment. Larry arrived made his assessment, informed me of the price, and began work. After cleaning out the first 25 feet of greasy pipe it was still clogged. Larry had to bring in his 100 foot clog buster and got the clog around the 40 to 50 foot mark; a huge nasty chuck of hardened grease. Larry cleaned up the spilt greasy water and left everything as it was before he came.

    Pipe burst

We had discovered water leaking in our basement from an unknown area and it created a lot of damage. Michael found the problem quickly and repaired the burst pipe. We had called Waterworks in the past and had a good experience so it made the most sense to call them (Michael) back! We were not disappointed.

    Replace cartridge in faucet

From my first call to WaterWorks they were very professional and customer oriented. An appointment was set up and the serviceman came right on time. Initially you have to pay a service call charge and then upon seeing the problem you are given a price for the work. I was very surprised by how expensive it was going to be to just replace a cartridge which I already had on hand but being I was going to have to pay for the call if I didn't get them to do the work I decided to go ahead. It took a second trip to fix the problem since Moen had send me another replacement cartridge and when it arrived I phoned WaterWorks back and they promptly came back and finished everything up. Both the servicemen who came were very professional and courteous.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Dave W in North York, Thank you so much for choosing Waterworks. The advantage of getting an upfront flat rate price even if Moen sent out the wrong part, you only pay for the one job. We would never charge any additional fees to come out again. We warranty all our work and should any problem arise please don't hesitate to call us. Thank you so much from us here at Waterworks.

    Condensate pump for tankless heater

After the pump failed I called Michael in a panic. He came by the next day replaced the faulty unit and was out in no time. Even better after the huge storm a couple of weeks ago my tankless heater wouldn't restart. So, I'm in a HUGE panic now, Michael helped me figure out the error code and over a few calls of troubleshooting walked me through getting it back up & running (just needed to clean the air filter) at no charge.
