Fixing sewage backup issue in basement bathroom (tub and toilet)

Our basement bathroom, specifically the toilet and tub, were filled with sewage. Given how unpleasant this was, we wanted to get this remedied ASAP. I called WaterWorks and Michael was able to come and see me the next day. He clearly explained to me the work that needed to be completed, and was very courteous, professional, and pleasant. He completed the required work (moving the toilet and snaking the drain) and cleared the blockage. He made sure that he had fixed the problem completely and cleaned the area prior to leaving. He even helped me out with another completely unrelated toilet issue at no additional charge. Michael told me what caused the problem (baby wipes down the toilet) and provided great suggestions as to how to prevent such issues moving forward. I would highly recommend this company as they provide quality work that they stand behind, and can be relied upon to do the job right the first time.

    Bathroom sink faucet seized

and leaked. Required all new hardware. Great service. fast, clean, polite, all good. The price was based on the fact that the hardware required was non-standard. Opted for the 1 year protection plan which actually saved me a bit of money to boot! Thanks Michael!

Leaking Ceiling from 2nd Floor Shower

Michael and his team were super fast in getting back to me after I discovered a puddle on my main floor from a leaking shower. Even though they had a packed day they managed to squeeze me into their schedule and were able to read the problem quickly, provide me a clear cost breakdown to fix it and walk me through the completion process, and timing. I have a 7-month old so you can appreciate that I was very distracted, they were quick and informative which I thought was wonderful! FOLKS - DO NOT USE DRAINO!!! altho underlying issues caused the leak, the Heat generated from the Draino was the catalyst here... Thanks to WaterWorks, Great JOB!

    Answer from pro:

Jeanette in Toronto - Thanks for your positive and informative review. it's true - the sudden heat generated by those strong chemical products can transform a weak area in your piping into a hole. We highly recommend a wonderful product called Bio-Clean. It's organic, not caustic and contains active bacteria that just love to feast on the gunk in your pipes. It has a dozen other uses as well. We love to keep our customers educated in ways to keep their plumbing running smoothly and trouble free. from the Team @ Water Works Plumbing & Drains Inc.

    Dishwasher Installation

I am currently renting a unit as a tenant and my dishwasher broke down. I tried to take it upon myself to do some searching for a dishwasher installation company and no one was responding to my emails, calls etc. I then found Waterworks Canada and someone came into my unit the next day to install a new dishwasher promptly and early. Very happy with the service! Thank you!

    Fixing leaking bathtub faucet

My clawfoot bathtub faucet was leaking. I called WaterWorks and they were able to send someone when it was convenient for me. Michael called beforehand, showed up, diagnosed the problem, gave me quotes for different options (from a written list, which I think is re-assuring), fixed the problem and gave me further advice about care and future improvements.

Hi Eric in Toronto - Thank you for your review. We do find that our customers appreciate our upfront pricing. It is reassuring to know that the price at the end of the job will be the same as when it was started. From The Team @ Water Works Canada Inc.

    Sink

I had a leak in my cabinet under my sink, and decided to be the handyman I never was, and caused a worse leak. Called WaterWorks, and they fixed it in no time, and for an awesome price! Next time I'll just be calling them right off the bat

Hi David in Scarborough - Some projects do lend easier than others to DIY. But the thing about plumbing is that you just never know. Sometimes what appears to be a simple fix, can develop into a bigger repair. no worries though. We were happy to come to the rescue and get your sink back up and running. Connecting a new sink and a faucet

I was having new counter-tops put in and had purchased a sink and a new faucet. When it came time to have them connected I came on homestars and chose waterworks because they were the highest rated. I'm from Kingston originally so I didn't really know any companies in Toronto. I called on Monday or tuesday and they were able to come on a Friday which was perfect. The plumber arrived on time and seemed very knowledgeable. At first i was put off by the estimate of what it was going to cost me as it seemed high but after looking around on this site and others it looks like it was a fair price. Like I said, I didn't have a lot of experience with plumbers in Toronto. Its worth it to know that you're getting a professional to do the work and knowing that if anything goes wrong there is someone there to call who will back up their work. Others might have been cheaper but I think you take a risk when you play that game. He completed the work very quickly and was quite friendly. It took only 2 hours to connect both the sink and faucet and he made sure that they both worked before he left.

Hi Aaron in Toronto - Thank you for taking the time to write your review. While it might seem convenient to receive a "ball park" price over the phone, that is a difficult thing to do. While it seem easy to price an installation of a faucet, there are many variables in the equation as the choice and selection of faucets is enormous today. We are committed to do the best job for our customers and give them the best value. From the Team @ Water Works Plumbing & Drains Inc.

    repair/replace hose bib

Michael arrived as scheduled, quickly assessed the problem and repaired the broken water supply pipe and installed a new and improved hose bib. He also noted a couple of other items that require attention. Michael was very courteous, organized and efficient. He did not criticize my poor do-it-yourself attempt at the repair.

    Answer from pro:

Hi John S in Mississauga - Thank you for reviewing our services. Customer service is our top priority. We are so glad to hear that Michael was courteous, organized and efficient. And no, we never laugh at our customers - we have all been guilty of trying a DIY at some point! All the best from the Team @ Water Works Plumbing & Drains Inc.

    Backflow preventer

After purchasing a custom-built home, we were dismayed to find that the building permit was still open (from the previous owner) and the Town required a number of plumbing issues to be remediated. As a frequent user of HomeStars, I researched the top 3 plumbing companies and contacted each to provide a quote. Although all 3 companies provided very competitive rates, we choose Water Works because they demonstrated the most professionalism and expertise. We were quite fortunate to have the owner, Michael Yuffa, service our home. He installed a backflow preventer for our basement floor warming heater. Because this was an expensive and specific part, and it needed to comply with Building Code, I had actually had several email conversations with Lisa, Water Works' Manager and Service Coordinator, to confirm the correct equipment/parts. Lisa was fantastic to deal with, she helped relay my questions to Michael and always responded promptly, as well as conveyed a sense of warmth and readiness to help that you always find everyday. In terms of customer service, I would rate her a 10 out of 10. During the service installation, Michael was very thorough in explaining the work, and also provided other helpful advice on how to maintain our floor warming heater. He knowledgeable, paid attention to details, was clean and tidy with his work, and took a lot of care when servicing our home. Like my experience with Lisa, I found Michael to convey a sense of warmth to his clients that you don't find every day. I tend to develop long-term relationships with a few key service providers, and Water Works will definitely be a company that I will contact again to help me with plumbing issues. Thank you Michael and Lisa!
