    Bathtub leak

I was very impressed with Water Works from the moment I watched the video online, to meeting Michael when he showed up to fix a leak in the master bathtub. He worked diligently on a tough job and he was unstoppable until it was 100% fixed. I will not hesitate to hire Michael for any future plumbing needs, in fact, I already did! He made a recommendation to me after he worked on another client's home to first see if their new system worked before he suggested it for my home. Both he and Stephanie in the office are courteous, professional, helpful and will go out of their way to ensure a good experience. Go with Michael, he is experienced, knows what he is doing and cares about fixing your problem.

    Clean main line

Michael was very helpful, fast, knowledgeable generally very nice. Our old home often raises some very expensive problems which we were afraid of when our basement drain started overflowing last week. We were concerned for a number of reasons not to mention a large tree in our front yard, a downfall of rain lately and an over active sump pump of late. Michael came by the day we called and was able to clean out our main pipe without much issue. Waterworks also has this wonderful pricing book that lists all the prices of their products and services. So it is fair, there is no "tweaking" the prices based on the customers location or car (which we've seen and heard of previously). Overall we are very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them and will be using their services in the future.

    Plumbing

March 10 we had water flooding our laundry room in the basement. George from Water Works arrived and replaced our failing, cracked, sewer ejector pump. March 13 more flooding..???? Called Water Works and Michael arrived within the 90 minutes and adjusted the installation at no extra charge. Michael not only completed the job with expertise he gave us advice on long term solutions to our outdated plumbing system and infirmation on the importance of monitoring fire, carbon dioxide, and high water levels on our house alarm. What a surprise when I visited the web site and found out that Michael was the owner of The Water Works.

    Kitchen Drain Clog

A few months ago, our drain was clogged and it seemed like it might be a dreaded tree root. We called Water Works and they had George come by the very next day! He diagnosed the problem and found that a whole lot of debris had filled up the pipe leading up to our kitchen sink, and even pulled out a previous tenant's butter knife! He was in and out in a couple of hours, and solved the problem quickly, efficiently and cost-effectively. I wouldn't hesitate to call these folks again.

Hi Jessie in Toronto Thank you for sharing your thoughts. And oh yes thank you for your business we really appreciate that. Thank you from all of us at WaterWorks.

    Minor repairs

We hired Waterworks for some minor repairs, i.e. a sink that did not have water and a corroded valve. The first negative impression we had, was when they told us on the phone they charge $49.00 for a quote. We should have listened to our feeling... Although their plumber was nice and friendly and did a satisfying job, we felt ripped off. The parts surely did not cost more than $100 and the plumber was done within 1 hour. For this, they charged us $700! We will certainly not deal with them anymore and can't recommend them to anyone. If a company does not give you a free quote, they surely have a good reason... Update: Since Waterworks tried to question my credibility and have my review removed, I feel the need to be more precise. The cost for the parts were: 1 Aerator: $4.99 at Home Depot, 1 Ball Valve: $20.49 at Home Depot. There was only one worker (George) in our house and he was here 1 hour and 15 minutes. The "up front quote" actually happened at the spot, i.e. in our house after part of the work was done. For this, you charged $629.67 before tax. Although I appreciate your offer to "do something for me in the future" if I change my review, I do think other customers should be able to judge for themselves if this is a fair price and good practice.

    Answer from pro:

Dear Columbo in Oakwood Thank you for your review. We do appreciate all reviews that we receive. Sorry you feel this way. We did give you an up front quote on how much it would cost from our price book and there was no surprises. At which time you approved. We were there for 2 hours. We arrived on time, with a fully loaded truck to get the work done right away. Just to let you know our prices are in line with the rest of our peers. The job actually only cost $629 plus tax. Would you have felt better if we were the type of company that would send out an unlicensed apprentice or handyman type that would have taken all day to do the job or even likely having a poor quality repair, probable not? And perhaps not show up for a day or two? Instead we sent out a certified plumber who is very skilled professional. The choice of your low score seems more to do with getting back at us because of buyer remorse. Your lifetime labour warranty stands and it would be our pleasure to be of service to you anytime in the future. Thank you from all of us at WaterWorks.

    Plumbing service for Bathroom

Michael was very professional. He called in advance prior to arriving to confirm the appointment, showed up on time, completed the work we discussed Seamlessly, and provided insight on pricing. He was honest in our discussion - he identified what is required service for today and what can wait until a later date since its functional such as our cold water valves in the bathroom. I really appreciated his insights. He also looked into other small items such as our kitchen faucet retractable cord because it was obstructed and aligned our dishwasher - at no additional charge..it was very nice gesture. Sometimes its the small things that count. He Definately will recommend Michael to my friends. I appreciated his focus on client service. Service was exceptional. Thank you very much!!

    Basement Waterleaking and Demolition

Late Sunday night we had discovered water seeping through cracks on the basement foundation wall of our condo townhouse. I don’t have a “go to” contractor to go to when I run into repair problems so I began doing a cold search on the internet and came across HomeStars. A search on HomeStars led me to WaterWorks. They had many positive reviews so I decided to give them a call late Sunday night. Lauren was able to schedule a time for me the following day. The next day, Michael and George came over to my house to assess the problem. As far as first impressions go, they were on the mark. First of all, they were on time. Second, they came prepared with their trucks and all their gear. Third, they were polite, approachable, calm, attentive, patient, willing to help, had good humour, and most importantly they listened to everything I had to say. They did not at all belittle me nor did they dismiss anything I had to say. You don’t meet people with these types of characteristics too often. Michael took a look at the situation and indicated that the problem was from the outside-in. He told me that because it is a condo townhouse, the condo corp should take care of the repair work. Michael did not at all try to pressure me into doing the repair work and they didn’t try to force me to incur any unnecessary additional expenses on my end. After speaking to the condo corp, the condo corp said I had to demolish the washroom in the basement so they can access the leak. George from WaterWorks did the demolition work – remove toilet, remove sink, tear the dry wall down, and conduct some minor plumbing work. They cleaned up the mess and did the job without any hesitation. As far as pricing goes, Michael had a standard book with the rates he charges for various services. Theses costs included both parts and labour. He showed me this book and walked me though the cost of various works that would be performed. I like this in that the pricing was transparent and clear, you know exactly what you’re paying for, and you know that you’re paying the same price as others would for the same job (so no sense of being gouged). When the job was complete, they provided a self addressed/postage paid customer feedback form for me to fill in and mail back. Michael also gave me a follow-up call the following day to ask how I felt about the job that was done. WaterWorks is a rare find in that you don’t find too many repair companies that value customer service to this level. Once my leak is fixed up I will be renovating that basement washroom and I will be calling WaterWorks to perform that renovation job. I’ve never had a “go to” plumber – but now I do. Thank you WaterWorks, Michael and George, for your time, dedication to the work, and patience.

    root clogged main drain

Like many older Toronto homes with lots of trees and bushes, the roots eventually caught up with our plumbing. My husband who is an experienced handi-man removed a basement toilet and with the household snake, quickly realized why we had a blockage. Water Works came within two hours of our phone call, both George the technician and Michael the manager. We were leaving for a holiday in a few days so appreciated their approach - i.e. fix things up fast with a power-snake, and if this did not do a permanent job, make sure the plumbing would be safe and functional until our return. Which George did - but also discovered some rather large roots that the power-snake could not break up and will continue to give us a slow drain-flow. George was knowledgeable, explained things to me clearly and outlined various follow-up plans. Quite a professional approach - he suggested that we start by replacing the obvious problem section, about 10 feet from the toilet, and then re-assess the integrity of the rest of the drain. I felt that Water Works was not out to sell a Cadillac package if a Ford would get things done just fine.
