    Plumbing in the bathroom

I found the person doing the work professional. The work itself was done with quality, in a short period of time, and it was fairly priced. I would recommend this company to others.

    Waterproofing the basement

We made the awful mistake to hire PUBLIC PLUMBING to waterproof our basement in January 18th 2012 and we were totally ripped off and left to solve the problem by ourselves, which we hired them to fix in the first place. The job was suppose to cost $3, 250 and it ended up costing us about $4.000 plus $2,000 for a sub plumb that, as it turns out, we did not even need and was rather precautionary and so far useless and unsightly. BEWARE!!!!! We noticed when they were done, that the job had not been completed to where the man said it would. We figured that they had diagnosed the problem and that it was not necessary to go any further. It was such a hassle to communicate with them anyways and the guy Boris was so full of himself and dismissive, plus the bill kept pilling up, we just wanted them out of here. This is July, and it took calling several times to get them to look at their crappy job, and guess what? They didn’t own up to it. The Boris guy no longer works for them, they say. I got the red flag when Boris was not even around while the work was getting done and every time we asked a question to the workers (whom did not speak English) they had to call him and wait for him to translate… I’m not kidding! The arrogant man that came to give us the estimate pointed out with his hand up to were the work was going to be done and we trusted what he said. Well as it turn out, the “approx” measurements that he wrote in the contract were less than the area he had pointed out to us, and since we did not go around with a measuring tape to make sure every inch was accounted for in the contract, we got screwed! If you have these people in your house, RUN with your measuring tape and check, don’t trust what they say. After nearly $6,000 we still have a moldy basement, an ugly-useless sub plumb and they still want another $1200 to finish the job they said (but did not specifically write) they would do… “We do it right the first time” is their claim…NO NO! They won’t do it right the first time…they won’t even rectify it.

Dear Monica, Thank you for taking the time and providing your feedback in regards to the service provided to you in January of 2012. I am very disappointed in your review and would appreciate if you took a moment and read the below response. After analyzing your feedback, looking over our records and speaking with our technician who came out to see you on Monday, we believe that your feedback is misleading and not reliable. Initially, when Borys(who is no longer with the company) came out to see you in regards to your waterproofing issue you were provided with honest, professional and reliable opinion with two options to tackle the problem. Our staff are trained to provide honest opinions with options for the clients to choose from. The two options provided to you were: (I) waterproof the whole basement (our advise) or (ii) waterproof the area damaged. You decided to go with the second option and waterproof only the area damaged which was approximately 17 feet. Two weeks ago you called our office and an appointment was set up for a technician to come out to asses the problem again. Our technician came out and as it turned out the mold and leak have occurred in a different area than where the original work was completed. You were advised during the initial visit in January that this could happen if you do not waterproof your whole basement. When we started the initial work, we agreed on and you confirmed with your signature only 17 feet of waterproofing. Because we value our clients and take care of their needs, instead of completing the 17 feet, our team went above and beyond and waterproofed 20 feet at no extra cost to you. During the phone conversation our technician communicated to you that if there is an error on our part, we will fix the problem at no cost to you. Again, as the technician showed you, the problem is in a different area than initially worked on, thus we provided you with a discounted price because you are a returning client and we value your business. As for the "sump pump", whenever you complete a waterproofing job, you must insert a sump pump in order for the water that gets accumulated to be drained out in order not to pose problems in the future. And lastly, as a proud Canadian plumbing company, we at Public Plumbing promote and respect diversity of an individual within the workplace. We encourage multiculturalism and provide each of our employees with equal opportunities within a workplace. Your comment in respect to the lack of English of some our our crew members is very unprofessional and embarrassing as a Canadian. Our staff are all hardworking, professional and respectful and it is under no circumstances fair of you to belittle any individual in such manner. We are sorry you were not happy with the resolution provided by our technician. We have and had your best interest in mind from the initial meeting in January. Our offer still stands and we would appreciate your business once again if you choose to continue the relationship with us. Once again thank you for stating your concerns and I hope that this reply clears up a lot of confusion and misleading information. Sincerely, Rose Clark Customer service co-ordination.

    ùKitchen faucet replacement

My faucet was leaking and I discovered that is had sprung a bad leak under my kitchen cabinets. ùièm a do it yourselfer, so ùi bought the parts, however couldn;t get the old faucet off as it was badly corroded. ùi had no choice but to call a plumber. ùi called ùpublic ùplumbing and they dispatched my call out. In less than five minutes ùi had a call back from the Naz, the technician and he guaranteed to be out before 4pm Saturday. By 3:30 he called me to confirm he was on his way. ùhe was polite, worked very cleanly and quickly. ùhe removed the old faucet in minuttes, installed the new faucet and shut off valves. He tidied up quickly and took all broken parts with him for disposal. I was very satisfied and will recommend him to any client I know that needs a good plumber.

    Water Service Line Replacement

Nazar and his team of workers at Public Plumbing were a pleasure to work with. Let's start with communication: Questions were always answered promptly, work was explained in an understandable manner, and there were no hidden costs. The pricing for the job was extremely reasonable and the work was done in a shorter amount of time than originally anticipated. Best of all, when the job was completed, there was no debris, no mess, and no clean up necessary on my part. The workers did a very clean job and I would happily recommend Public Plumbing to anyone looking for a reliable plumber. Honest. Reliable. Professional...What more could we ask for. Thanks guys!

    Pipe Replacement

We used Public Plumbing to replace the water intake pipe to our home and we were impressed with their professionalism and the quality of work. The crew was hardworking and very effective in completing the job in hours, and leaving the house and the worksite cleaner than it was before they arrived. The change has significantly increased our water pressure and enhanced the value of our home. We had obtained quotes from a number of plumbers but this was by far the best value for the service we received.

    Replacement of Main Shutoff Valve

A home inspection on our recently sold home uncovered a leaky bleeder valve on our old main shutoff valve. One can imagine how worried we were of our house sale falling through. After some research, I called two local plumbers (I always support local businesses) and Public Plumbing was the first to not overcomplicate or over-sell their services. Their free estimate was the deal clincher. Vlad visited my home, assessed the problem and offered some practical solutions and reasonable estimates. He didn't overcomplicate things and gave me some reassurances that we didn't have lead pipes (which could have required digging out the pipes to the street). Even when the City of Toronto messed up my street shutoff value, Vlad was accommodating and promptly returned when the City fixed their street shutoff valve (saving me from Toronto's 2x$75 shutoff fee.) I will be using them in my new home as I already have some jobs waiting in the wings.

    plumbing repair

A leaking basement on a Friday night night and a friend called Public Plumbing. While the leak, caused by rain, was got under control, Public Plumbing turned up with a team of four workers 9:15 Monday morning - just as it was beginning to rain again. They dug down 7 feet, found the faulty pipe, replaced it, filled in the hole, tidied up and were away by about 6:30 in the evening. They did a very good j ob. On a later date, the sump pump had become clogged with styrofoam pieces. Public Plumbic vacuumed the material out and left the equipment clean and functioning well. I was very pleased.
