    Sewer pit replacement

I had an old sewer pit in the house with improper lid, which didn't seal the pit properly, could feel the sewer smell in the basement. Called several companies and every one of them said the only way is to replace the whole pit (they can't make a custom lid for the existing one). Other companies quoted more than $4000 for the job, plus 2-3 days of work(=several days of mess in the house). I tried to resolve the issue by other means: installed a fan, tried to seal the pit in different ways. Nothing helped. A friend of mine suggested Public Plumbing as a reliable and reasonable company. They came the next day after my call, gave me a much better quote ($1000 less than other companies), did an amazing very clean job in 1 DAY! Since then, my problem was resolved - no more sewer smell in the house. The pit works perfectly and will last a long time. I am very satisfied with their services and wish I knew about them earlier and didn't spend money on other stuff that didn't work. Would definitely recommend to everybody I know.

Main drain replacement and back-water valve installation

Public Plumbing responded quickly to my call, even though it was on a weekend. My house still had old clay drains and after experiencing sewage back-ups due to tree roots in the drains I finally decided to replace the pipes under the house. The supervisor explained clearly how the work would be done (main line relacement inside, backwater valve, two floor drains and 12 feet drain replacement outside) and the crew arrived promptly as scheduled the following Monday. The job was done quickly as promised and the crew left the basement working area clean. The supervisor even called me at work during the daytime to update me on the cause of an obstruction in the outside drain. A project which could well have been unpleasant turned out to be a pleasant experience, as it left me feeling I could trust Public Plumbing and I ended up happy that I had the work done. The price as well seemed reasonable. Public Plumbing made me feel that they were working in my best interest.

    Major Pipe Replacement

I am SO glad I found Public Plumbing! They are an exceptional company that inspired my confidence immediately. This is the second major job they did for me, and both times they did top quality work for a very fair price and completed each job within the timeframe promised. They are very skilled, professional and reliable and they value customer loyalty. Now that I have met them, I would not dream of trusting my plumbing needs to anybody other than Public Plumbing!

    Clogged bath tub drain

We had our bath tub getting more and more clogged up and nothing we did helped to fix the drain issue. After countless attempts, I finally gave in and called Public Plumbing. Call was answered professionally and easy, had no problems understanding each other. They were punctual, tidy and job was done in no time. I cant believe I was dreading it for so long. We are very happy they were recommended to us. Thanks PP!

Replace root-clogged clay sewer pipe & install clean-outs

Sewer backed up in my home (over 100-years old and fully renovated) in downtown Toronto - leaving a horrible, sickening stench. Public Plumbing (PP) was recommended by the plumbing company who was called in during the emergency. PP used a camera and showed me the obstruction on the screen - everything was clearly explained and the camera was not withdrawn until I could see the problems and fully understood everything he was explaining. PP recommended replacing clay pipe in two areas - interior recreation room and exterior in the front yard. Instead of tearing out my built-in planters (an early discussion), they burrowed under them (saving me considerable dollars) and into the rec room. Two crews were sent, one worked inside and the other outside. They knew what they were doing and carried put their jobs with diligence and care - care to my finished basement even though sand and clay was piled 5' high in the rec room and care to my bricked court yard with the built-in planters. The clay pipe was replaced and two new clean-outs were installed in the yard and my home and yard were left clean and in good shape. Then the camera was inserted again and I was shown all was clear to the City sewer and into my home right to the back bathroom. I would recommend Public Plumbing to anyone. I have peace of mind once again. I did not get any other estimates thus I have no idea if the price was comparable to other companies. As Public Plumbing had been recommended by another plumbing company and I researched them on the web and since I felt comfortable with the first PP man on the job (I felt he was trustworthy) I gave them the contract. I liked his straight-forward, clearly-explained approach to the problem. AND I'M VERY HAPPY I CHOSE PUBLIC PLUMBING - I've already recommended them to a neighbour down the street. Thanks for a job well done.

plugged drain, replacing lead water pipe into house

Borys and his crew showed up at my house on time and ready to do all the repairs. Since I was having my kitchen drain cleaned I added on other jobs that needed doing. He had three crews so that they could be done in a couple of days. They were prompt, courteous and did a fantastic job. Borys was thorough in explaining what needed to be done and why. Most important after digging up my front yard to replace the lead pipe they were able to put every stone back just as it was before if not better. They cleaned up and left my basement in very good condition. Not something that happens with trades too often. I would highly recommend Borys and this company.
