I noticed a water leak after the many rainstorms we had in 2012 and decided I needed to do something in short order. After calling 3 ashphalt shingle roofing companies, and 2 steel roof companies I decided to stick with ashphalt and narrowed my choice to City 1 Roof Works after hearing Danny out on what competitive differences that his company brought to the table. I can summarize them as: 1) Quality materials -- While every manufacturer historically has had problems, I was sold on CertainTeed shingles after my existing IKO organic shingles had failed after only 10-11 years and they did not budge to make amends; 2) Professionalism -- From showing WSIB certificates, to talking through my shingle options, pointing out issues on the existing roof, vents, ice guard, etc. -- his crediblity was solid and I was convinced what he recommended would do the trick; 3) While City 1's price was not the cheapest it was competitive. City 1 completed the squeezed me in during the pre-winter rush, did the job on time and on budget. They pointed out deficiencies they discovered and left me with some nice photos to share. My roof has survived without leak over the winter and I'm happy to write this review as they did a good job.

Very pleased. City1 Roofing was forthright in setting expectations for the start date and duration for the work, and followed through on that forecast. Their estimate was indeed their final price and they proactively kept us posted regarding progress. Everything they did was professional, seemed focused on a quality job, regular clean-ups, and minimizing the inconvenience to us as much as possible. The roof looks fantastic and has been functioning great. People in the know that have seen the job City 1 did at our house have been really impressed too. For roofing needs, I recommend to get in touch with them.

We have a backsplit in Mississuaga that was in desperate need of a new roof. We contacted five companies - all with high HS ratings - to obtain quotes. We narrowed it down to 2 companies and eventally selected Danny and City1 Roof Works. It was a big job - not only new shingles, but we needed more/proper vents, and new plywood sheets (~30 as the old one had mold from moisture in the attic). Danny and his crew were great! They completed the job on time and within the quote. He managed our expectations on timing and delivery of materials. He helped us select the proper shingles (was patient with our choosing of the right colour) and everything was spotless when they left. My wife and I were very pleased and would (and will) recommend Danny & City 1 Roof Works to anyone that needs a new roof or roof repair.

After looking at a few quotes for roofing my neighbour and I decided Danny and City 1 Roof Works (Roof On Homes) was the team to go with for a re-shingling of our entire semi-attached homes. They were not the cheapest estimate of the 3...they were in the middle, but their roof inspection and estimate was the most thorough and well-explained. Danny is a very honest hard working individual and stands by the quality of the team he assigns. He does not believe in cutting corners on materials or labour just to pocket a few extra bucks. His reputation means a lot to him and it shows in the quality of his work. He was friendly, and polite, and always very professional. I will say he was a bit slow in responding via email but it was a very busy time for them so I understand if correspondence slides a bit in hectic times. Having said that, he always got back and stuck to his word in terms of scheduling. In terms of the work itself, I was impressed with the quality/value of materials, which are not jacked up premium for premium's sake...but are very good shingles with a solid guarantee and good value for the dollar. The work was done on the date promised and they finished it all in a day while I was at work. The crew cleaned up so well it was like they were never even there. The shingles look fantastic and the flashing work is stellar. Overall very pleased. If my experience is any indication, then you would be doing well to have this company on your roof!

Over 11 years ago we had the pitch and flat roof of our home redone by two very reputable companies in the Hamilton/Burlington area. At the time, we could not find one company that did both flat and pitched roofs. Every winter since then, our bedroom ceiling has had water pouring down whenever there was a significant snow fall and thaw period. For 11 years I had both companies point fingers at each other or tell me that the problem was with my chimney cap (which I replaced), with the insulation in our pitched roof attic (which I completely redid), etc. etc. The leaking never stopped and eventually worsened and started to leak when it rained. At this point both companies have basically told me that I need a new roof because it has been 11 years! I decided that if I need a new roof, there was no way either of those companies would get my money ever again. Using Homestars I found City 1 who did both pitched and flat roofs. I emailed them the history of our problem roofs and asked them to come take a look and give a quote for a new roof. Chuck arrived, inspected both the flat and pitched roof and instead of giving me a quote for a new roof, suggested instead some repairs that he felt would fix the immediate problem and prevent future ones. The immediate leak was fixed and we were very happy. Then we received our little bit of snow at the end of November and once again the roof leaked. Chuck came out again, and noticed that vent installed by our contractor 2 years ago was the wrong type of vent. He made a repair for free but suggested we might want to get a new vent installed. In the meantime the current leak seemed to be repaired. Just after Christmas we had the major snow fall I feared. A week went by with warm and cold temperatures and no leaks. This was a first in 11 years. Then on the 31st of December I woke up to the sound of dripping again. Danny sent Chuck out once again and we had him install the proper dyer vent. So far there has been no more leaking. What has impressed me with both Danny and Chuck is not once have they said we need to replace both our roofs. Furthermore, they have been doing repairs that no one else even suggested to make. Those repairs have made a difference. The leaks are less frequent and the amount of water has been significantly less. As always we have to wait for the perfect weather conditions to see if the leak has truly been repaired. Chuck and Danny have one last option which they will do in the spring if it appears that the leak problem has still not been resolved. I really appreciate all the effort they have gone through for us, especially since they never put these roofs on to begin with. No matter what you are doing it is hard to fix mistakes made by others. We have already decided that when the time comes to completely redo both roofs that we will use City 1 Roof Works. They are hardworking, trustworthy, dependable and honest. How often do you use those words when describing roofers? We thank you for everything you have done so far to help us out.

We just had our roof replaced by Danny and his team and everything I read beforehand was absolutely true. The team came and did the entire job in one day. After they left you couldn't even tell that they were here. The next day I walked around the house and found no garbage! Danny is a pleasure to deal with - he's honest, communicates well and delivers what he promises. I'm very pleased with everything about this job and have already recommended them to several people!

Very happy with the work Danny's team did Chuck and his crew were prompt, got the job done quickly and cleaned up everything after. Chuck also took photos to show me the progress as they went. He also made sure to keep me informed about what they were doing and why and solicited input from me as they went to confirm it was what i wanted.

Highly recommended! They are competitive with the pricining but, the quality of workmenship above the rest. The roof replaced is extremely steep and challenging. I also had two large sky lights replaced with the Velux electric models due to the location and they were able to accomplish this task. I fell that you will be happy with their services and are worth waiting for.

I was referred by a friend to have Danny and his team to replace the shingles on a house. He arrived at my house and assessed the work that needed to be done. The presentation and suggestions he gave was quite involved. It included all the tiles, colours and samples he offers. He also elaborated on the certificates of training, warrantee information and a wealth of knowledge. on the day of the install he arrived with a team of 7 and the new shingles were installed. New venting installed and old venting removed. 1skylight replaced. My gutter was cleaned as well. All the work was completed in one full working day and I am very happy. I am overall very happy with City 1 and their team and would definitely recommend to those who are looking for some roof work done!
