Strip and reshingle roof, add 4 attic vents
We found City 1 Roof Works through this site and liked the comments and ratings. When Danny came out to quote we were quite impressed with what he was offering and the fact that he offered copies of his up-to-date insurance, workers'comp etc. as well as a written guarantee. The price he quoted was also very reasonable. We already had 2 other quotes but Danny's presentation blew them out of the water so we hired them that day. Before he left he did a minor repair to our roof we were concerned about to tide us over. Well, the work is done and we couldn't be happier. They went the extra mile for us in many different ways, too many to list here. Our "easy" roof turned out to be very convoluted with more than a few problem areas but they were troopers and worked hard all day, battling a battalion of wasps for most of it. We would recommend this company in a heartbeat, and will to anyone looking for a roofing company.

New Roof
We are quite pleased with the installation of our new roof by Danny and his crew. Danny checked our roof, the quote was within the budget and provided samples. The job was completed as stated and the clean up as promised. We highly recommend.

New Roof
Danny was very open and above board with the job necessary to bring the roof up to the high standard we required. The crew came in and were professional in their work and behavior. The were prepared for rain if it happened and were careful of the garden and deck. The job was completed in a timely fashion and the clean-up was done efficiently. We have already noticed an improvement in the temperature on the second floor; it is cooler than before. Thanks Danny !

New Roof
Danny and the crew were great. Danny inspected the roof, quoted the job, took me through my options, and was on-site and on the roof for the whole job. The guys were pros. They cleaned up completely every night, including moving my BBQs and other items back where they were before the start of the job (not just at the end, but both nights). We have a dog, so watching Danny go around the entire house with a magnet to catch all the nails was very reassuring (again, both nights). I would recommend with no reservations.

Roofing
I would like to take the opportunity to express my extreme satisfaction with the recent installation of a new roof by Danny and his crew. I obtained 5 quotes and although he wasn't the cheapest he was by far the best price for warranty, product and service. The professionalism exhibited by Danny and care taken of my property by all members of his crew was exceptional. In addition, he suggested and included in his price the covering of the metal valleys and caulking of a seam in an eavestrough etc. that I had asked to be addressed. Due to the rainy weather in May, he was not able to begin the installation right away however, when I saw the finished job I would say without a doubt, that City 1 Roof Works was worth the wait!

We are extremely happy with the work that was done by City 1 Roof Works. Provided us with initial schedule and expectations, kept us informed as to progress and fulfilled all that was promised, including final clean up.

New roof on 10-Year Old Matamy Home in Orchard - Burlington, Ontario
Same day service for a repair from wind damage, quickly, efficiently and no mess. City 1 then prepared an estimate for total re-roof using higher-grade materials, ensuring underlay and exisiting roof-undersurface was solid. Additonal re-routing of downspouts from 2nd-storey to 1st-storey to ground also quoted. Samples provided for review & selection of colours - all done within budget, on time and without incident. Highly-recommend, in fact, already did... Thank you City 1 - looking forwrad to future projects...kudos.

...lol....kudos Thanks Matt Did the chalk lines wash off .... Lol When everything was done I called Matt told him everything is completed let me know how you like it .... He says " everything looks good but there's red lines on the roof and I tryed not to laugh but I said your probably not use to seeing that it's called a chalk line we use this to cut all our valleys straight it will wash off next rain fall.... Re-roof/Shingles
In Nov/Dec of 2010, I started researching roofing contractors to replace the shingles on my roof (I live in a semi-detached and my neighbour also agreed to replace the shingles; I researched the contractors -he covered the materials). Based on Homestars feedback, I chose 7 companies with ratings of 10. This was further narrowed down based on additional research involving WSIB, BBB and the Consumer Beware Website. This left 4 contractors, one of which was Danny from City 1 Roofworks. All the contractors were very professional in their inspection and quotation of our roof. Danny came it at the best price with the most comprehensive package. This initially sent up the "red flag" signal for me since you are always advised not to go with the cheapest quote. I contacted Danny the next day and advised that I was concerned with this quote and questioned how he was able to have such a great price. Danny went through all the details with me and everything made sense. As a final action, I visited 5 homes that had their roofs replaced by City 1 and all the home owners were very pleased with his work. During all this time, we asked Danny a lot of questions and he always promptly called us back with the information we needed. In the end, City 1 is the contactor we signed with. At the time of the signing, Danny even suggested a colour change to the shingles (we had black and changed to a burnt sienna). Unfortunately, there was a lot of rain this spring and the completion of the roof was delayed. When Danny and City 1 were finally able to commit to an installation date, they showed up on time, prepared the work area (covered the walkways and garden with tarps) and worked extremely hard to 1 1/2 days to complete the job. I took time from work to "supervise" the job and Danny & City 1 completed everything as they described and even more. Even the bin contractor was prompt at dropping off the bin and picking it up. The roof looks great, the change to the burnt sienna shingle was a great suggestion and we recently just had some heavy downpours and there were no leaks!! People always here horror stories about the "bad" contractors that are out there. Danny and City 1 changed my perception....they are one of the good guys and it was a pleasure working with them. Thank Danny, Chuck and Norm for the great roof! Look forward to seeing you in three years for your preventative maintenance inspection program.

Complete Roof replacement
I just had my roof completely replaced by City1 roofworks. Danny and crew are thorough, knowledgeable and hard working. I started by research and quote process a few months in advanced. I called in 9 quotes over a period o 2weeks. By the end, I knew exactly what I was expecting from a roof replacement. After talking to all of them the choices quickly narrowed down to two. The cheapest estimates didn’t include some basic stuff required to have a solid, long lasting roof. Anyone asking for estimates should make sure they are comparing apples and apples. Do your research: Ice and water shield on valleys and edges. Underlayment all over, Metal drip edge, Metal Valley (even if closed), flashing replacement, vent replacement, etc. Although I had a great interaction with Danny during the quote process, I was on site during the 1 ½ days that it took to complete the job, to ensure all went as expected. Danny and crew, by far, exceeded by expectations. They were quick and detailed, even with the pretty strong winds (don’t know how they do it). They covered all areas with a tarp and cleaned up the mess afterwards. The bin was out of there 30 minutes after the job was completed. They also re-routed a drainage to the Eavestrough so that it wouldn't land on the roof. See pictures. I would recommend City1 roof works to anyone, in fact I already did. A truly exceptional job.

New Roof
Doing a job fast and still doing it right is a hard combination to achieve. City1 Roofing is unique in that sense. Danny takes pride in his work and insists on doing it right and never cutting corners. Yet, he also manages to pull it off at blazing speed. This unique combination sets this company apart. Danny and his team were quick to arrive at the scene when I requested a quote for installing a new roof. They were dressed professionally and wore their company logo with pride. The quote was fast and the price was fair. After a few phone conversations with Danny, we made a deal, and his team came showed up as expected on the day we agreed. They worked at astonishing speed, removed the entire old roof and replaced it with a meticulously laid new one in just over a day. Danny is a man of his word and can be trusted. I highly recommend City1 for any of your roofing needs, anything from small repairs to major reconstruction of your roof.
