    New High Efficiency Air Conditioner

We prevously used Convertible Air five years ago at our last address in Don Mills. They installed our air conditioner then and did a great job. This job was more complicated as our house had an older plenum and it was uncertain if that too would have to be replaced. Marnie (the manager) came out and examined it and spoke to her technicians. She quoted us on both outcomes. She gave us a fair price either way. Luckily, they were able to work with our existing plenum and we were very happy with the result. Marnie kept her word about the deal, and her staff were clean, professional, and communicated issues well with us and the head office. I should add that other companies did not consider using our existing plenum and suggested we get a 2.5 ton air conditioner. In actuality, a 2 ton one was sufficient for our size house and less expensive. We were very happy with all our dealings with this company. Thanks.

    Furnace replacement

Seven years ago we needed to replace our A/C. We contacted Convertible Air for an estimate. We were very impressed with Marnie who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She explained how the system works and what A/C would be suitable. We felt we could trust her to do the best for us. This year we decided it was time to replace our very old furnace. Without hesitation we contacted Convertible Air and met with Marnie. She explained thoroughly the various energy rebates and quoted a great price. Dealing with her was such a pleasure. Our furnace was replaced smoothly and the staff were friendly and courteous. Everything was handled to perfection. We couldn't be happier with the result. I highly recommend Convertible Air...thanks for your great service!

    High-Efficiency Furnace

Ed the salesman who came in to do the estimate was the most honest and best salesman I have ever met. He was friendly and professional, but most importantly was honest. We knew we had found the right people to install our new furnace. Dealing with people on the phone was easy and pleasant. The actual installation was done within the time that was estimated and it was done well and was professional.

    Furnace and Air Conditioner replacement

Having received a quote which seemed much too high from another firm, I decided to call Convertible based on their advertised low prices (although they were so low I thought there must be a catch). I then found this Homestars Review site before my meeting with Convertible, and became uneasy about the company based on the harshness of some of the negative reviews. However, I went ahead with the meeting and asked Marnie Amodeo, their general manager & salesperson, about each of the posted negatives, as well as the low advertised prices vs. her higher quote, and found her responses to be open and reasonable. I also called at random several of the customers from the list of 50 references which she provided and found them to be very positive, so much so that I asked three of these customers whether they were related to the owners of the company (all assured me they were not and, based on the quality of our conversations, I believe them). Bottom line, the Convertible quote was much more reasonable and better value than the competition and we decided to go ahead. The installers (Danny and Roger) were considerate and professional and showed a great work ethic, staying focussed on the job for 11 hours on a cold day in the middle of winter, taking care to see that the old equipment was removed cleanly and the new American Standard units were installed properly and running right. Also, Ms. Amodeo was very helpful in explaining the various available rebates and in responding to any questions both before and after the installation. I delayed posting this review until August to be able to comment on the performance of the new A/C unit, which we did not start-up until early July due the slow arrival of this summer. Pleased to report that the A/C is running as quietly and effectively as the furnace did in the winter. Overall, a very positive experience – we’re happy to recommend Convertible.

    furnace

Flooded my basement, unplugged my freezer losing hundreds in food. My house insurance was cancelled and the new policy tripled. Furnace currently not functioning and they refuse to service it. They left me high and dry! I have never been treated so poorly in my life. PLEASE don't give them your business! I am now forced to sue them in small claims court. Don't make the same mistake we did.

Complete Heating & Air Conditioning System

We recently purchased a 22 year old home and needed to replace the existing a/c unit. With a limited budget after having just purchsed the home, we had to be cost conscious with our decision. We received six quotes prior to making the decision to go with Convertible Air Conditioning. To be fair, most of the competing quotes were similar in price, however the deciding factor was the result of telling us something that we didn't want to hear: that if we didn't seriously consider replacing the furnace (probably the original one that came with the home) they didn't want to take our money. We said that we couldn't afford to replace both at the same time so Marnie suggested taking down the model and serial number of the furnace and said she would call the manufacturer to confirm how old it was. Sure enough, the next day she called and let us know that it was the original furnace and then let us know what our options were. Her honesty and the fact that she cared enough to verify the age of the furnace made our decision an easy one. And she walked us through the various financing programs that were avialable so that we could choose one that best fit our budget. The end result is that they won our trust with an honest assessment of what had to be done, and not just what we wanted to hear. The work was done promptly, their installer was very helpful taking time to answer some of our questions, and kudos for caring enough to wear boot covers to keep our home clean. Thanks for a job well done... Mark, Brampton, ON

Furnace, AC and Tankless Hot water tank installation

I was recommended to Convertible Air from my neighbour who did an installation with them around 9 years ago. Our home needed everything and we didn't know who to trust. We had several quotes. Most sales people we met seemed to pressure us - this made us uneasy. When we met with the rep from Convertible Air they were the total opposite. They explained everything with ease, confidence and no pressure. They knew all about rebates and how the programs worked. Their price was very fair and they offered several different brands to choose from. We chose to have them do our job and are soooo glad we did. Their crew was amazing. Very clean, friendly and obviously had trememdous experience with installations. Our old furnace looked like it was taped together, when Dave was done, it was immaculate. I was so impressed that I brought in my other neighbours to see their work. Thank you for living up to your referral from my neighbour, I am grateful I found you. You did an excellent job. Many thanks, Jason from the Beaches

    air conditioner

No pressure sales, very informative, good quality work, great prices. They showed us all the options. We talked about energy rebates, etc. We talked about all sorts of vendors, quality, styles, energy efficiency - they took the time to explain it all and allow us to decide. Soon after, it was installed - very good work overall.

    Replace Air Conditioner

I'm going to make this relatively short because I am really upset (a) they used a subcontractor to install the A/C (they say on their site they do not.) (b) A/C not installed properly - used WRONG FITTINGS, used FREON fittings for NEW REFRIGERANT - took the subcontractor couldn't figure it out, so it too the subcontractor's subcontractor 3 days to figure out and fix it - NO A/C during that June Heat Wave. (c) did not seal hole at all from outside of house to inside - water damage (d) told by Convertible to go through home insurance (e) insurance adjuster and contractor comes, says hole is 1 cause, but there is another source. called a plumber in (f) Convertible Air punctured the PVC waste pipe - my finished basement has water damage to the ceiling, drywall, moulding and laminate floors (g) All Convertible Air said is that they would pay the deductible and did not want to discuss it AT ALL - not even an apology, it was as if I was bothering him (h) I am left with a water damaged basement, I will lose my Claims Free Discount and an increase to my insurance premium.

    New Air Conditioner Installation

We were searching for a new air conditioner and called quite a few companies. One stood out above them all, Convertible Air Systems in Mississauga. The sales guy was great, informed and simply put good at his job. What really got us was the price difference he offered for the product, a brand name product. The installation was fast and professional and the company offered numerous payment plans. So far we are very happy and would recommend the company.
