    First time home buyer

    We're very satisfied with the service, the booking process was a breeze and Mike was great to deal with, answering our questions and making recommendations. The inspection took about 2 hours (it was an empty house). The report we received was very thorough with pictures, links with further explanation, and recommendations / call to action.

    Full Inspection - Double Garage Home

    Mike is very professional, responsive to emails, showed up on our appointment on time and provided a complete, detailed inspection report in PDF. He is knowledgeable and was a pleasure to deal with!

    Fully Detached Home Inspection

    Mike was able to accommodate a rush inspection with just one day's notice. We showed up 15 mins early but Chris was already on-site, inspecting the exterior of the home. He was very thorough, professional and knowledgeable and explained everything that needed work in detail. This was important to us as first-time home buyers. The 65 page PDF report was produced just a few hours after the inspection. We recommend Mike, Chris, and 4Sight all the way!

    Home inspection (Tarion Warranty Inspection)

    Michael was professional and did a good job on the inspection of our new home. Open to questions and explained everything well. We had to find an inspector in less than 24hours because our inspector canceled last minute and Michael was happy to accommodate us. I will definitely recommend him to others.

    Home Inspection

    Michael did a home inspection with me. He seemed knowledgeable and provided some helpful observations while we were together. Later, when I got the report, it was 57 pages of mostly boilerplate standard text that was generated by his computer program. The report did include a few useful observations, but omitted a lot of other observations. Most of the report was computer program-generated text with generic risks and all the potential problems that could happen in any old house....not this house but any old house. For example, there was a page on the risks of knob-and-tube-wiring, but this house already had replaced all the knob-and-tube so why is that page in the report, instead of customized text? When I asked Michael about the generic text, he said that this is the way the computer program works. To his credit, he did provide a customized summary that provided more of his observations....it is a shame that the "normal" report did not reflect the observations from the walk-around. Michael, perhaps you should think about changing that computer-generated standard report......it's not customer-friendly.

    Philip, I am sorry to hear you were not happy with your service. As an FYI, a thermal camera was used throughout the home to detect moisture as is done in every home inspection that we complete. Further, the electrical panel cover was not removed because the top two screws on the panel were not accessible. As shown in your report they could not be reached with a screw driver, therefore, they could not be removed. There are definitely some generic comments that would apply to groups of homes because there is no point in writing exactly the same thing on every home inspection. As to your point about the knob and tube wiring, a home prior to 1935 could potentially have knob and tube. Although I am told it has been replaced I cannot see behind walls so I cannot make assurances that it does not exist somewhere in the home. I am never in a rush to complete a home inspection and do not complete superficial inspections. They are always thorough and complete. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.     Prompt, thorough and educational,

    Michael was quick to reply to questions during the booking process and punctual to the appointment. But best of all he was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain what to look for to us completely novice homeowners. Ultimately he helped us save potentially $3k in work that the seller has now agreed to repair.

    Home Inspection

    Michael and his team are very professional. Steve did the inspection and his work was very thorough. The report they issue at the end provided me all the information I need to make an informed decision.

    Buyer's home inspection

    Michael was able to do the inspection on less than 24 hours notice and provided the report the same day. On site Michael answered my questions patiently and pointed out the most significant findings. We were able to negotiate $5,000 off of the final price based on the findings of the inspection. Unfortunately because the inspection didn't include areas difficult to access due to storage, it did not discover a crack in the concrete floor in the basement with a buildup of dampness and mold that we did not discover until after closing. We understand the limitations of the inspection but are disappointed it was not detected by the thermal camera. It is possible that other companies would not have discovered this either, but I would recommend purchasers advocate for extra care related to foundation issues.

    Home Inspection Review

    Chris Shaw just completed the home inspection on a home that we are planning to purchase. Throughout the process, he kept us informed and took the time to show to us exactly what he was talking about. He was thorough in his inspection of the house - inside and outside.     Very informative, especially for new homeowners

    Moved from a condo to a semi, and did this inspection to help learn more about my house as it is my biggest investment. Chris did the inspection and was very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived 10 minutes early and proceeded to walk me through all the details, from exterior to the basement to the attic (and everything in between). He not only pointed out minor deficiencies, but also provided recommendations for solutions and explained why the issue was a deficiency. This was very helpful as a first time semi owner - a very thorough walk through (~2.5hrs). I would highly recommend this service to everyone, epecially if you've had to forgo the home inspection clause in your bid and you are a first timer.
