I called the company to look at three appliances, a dryer not starting, a dishwasher that has difficulties to start (hit and miss), and a microwave with broken handle. For the first two, I understand the technician needs to look at the machines in order to diagnose the problems, but for the microwave, I sent them the picture Of the broken handle parts, hoping they would bring the parts. No questions were asked of me, only confirming each appliance will be charged a visit fee if I decide not to proceed with the repair, and if I proceed with the repair, the visit fee would not be charged. I understand this is usual practice, no problem.
So the technician came on time. I was told the dryer needs a new motor, which I declined to replace (the dryer is 15 years old; similarly the dishwasher needs a new control board but the model is discontinued; The one thing I was unhappy about is the microwave. It happened to me before so I know how much it cost to have it fixed. The parts around $30, labor is the minor fix flat fee. But the company quoted a much higher price for parts and labor. When I asked why, I was told the estimated time to fix the handle is 45 minutes, which is not true (last time the repair person spent max 15 minutes in my house). I ended up declining the microwave repair as well. I don’t mind paying the fee but I couldn’t accept the fact the company was not honest with me for the repair. If it’s a policy there is a minimum job cost, just tell me. The technician seemed polite and knowledgeable but they definitely have some issue in their customer service. (I called a different company days later, they took down the microwave model, serial number so they can do the fix in one visit, that’s called real service). I rarely write online review but with so many great reviews here, I feel the need to share my story.
