    Fixed Issue, Created Another One

    Our washing machine door would not unlock. Technician determined the problem and promised to come back on Monday because part was in stock. We had to follow up and he came back on Thursday and installed it (thus the one star). He started the wash cycle and it seemed to work. However, after he left, we discovered that the floor had flooded. While the water was being added to the drum, it poured out behind the front panel, under the machine. And because the drum was not filling, the water kept running for much longer than usual. During the spin cycle, the drum was loud and seemingly off balance. We weren't sure if this was the actual problem that caused the washing machine door to stay locked as a safety, or if this was a new problem. We called the technician back and he checked the machine. He focused on a small area of rust just under the door (the machine is 17 years old) and said that it had been leaking a long time. He would not listen to us when we said that the floor had flooded and that I had witnessed the water coming from underneath the machine. He told us we needed a new gasket, which we declined, and argued with us that he did what he was asked to do. My brother watched a YouTube video about this type of repair for our washing machine model. He noticed that there was a hose under the gasket that needed to be re-connected. Ours was not connected. He reconnected it and that solved the leak and the loud noise during the spin cycle. It works fine now and we did not need a new gasket, which would have cost us another $300 or so all in. My husband explained all this to the office at Express Repair and they argued with him that the technician had completed the task we asked him to do. No acknowledgement or apology for not putting the machine back together properly. No concern that it had the potential to create a bigger issue. We understand that mistakes sometimes happen, but it is unacceptable to not acknowledge them or not make good on them. We do not recommend Express Repair.

    Washing Machine

    I had a service guy booked between 8:00-!0:00 A.M. He showed up at 11:00. He supposedly diagnosed the problem. He was unable to locate the part. Apparently, he said it needed a sensor. I called another appliance service company and found out that, the reason why they couldn't locate the sensor, was because it does not have one!! it's mechanical. Experienced ??? NOT !!! if I listened to him I would have bought a new washing machine. And to add insult, he didn't want cash. Paid him with debit card, and got charged an extra credit card fee. I reported this issue with the company, The lady still hasn't called back.

    Issues with our microwave

    Our microwave was having an issue with the door, we thought. It would,d work sometimes and not others. Wanted someone to come and check the door sensor. The guy showed up and right away, to get the control panel off, he pushed up on a plastic piece instead of taking out 2 small screws. There were broken plastic pieces all over the stove when he was done. He messed around with the control panel for about 5 minutes, then for some reason the fan came on, and he could not get it to turn off. He asked us how to turn off the fan and we pushed the button, but it didn't do anything. He finished up shortly after, the fan off now, I suspect he disconnected it inside. After he was done, the door would not open anymore, and he said there were many problems with the microwave and it should be replaced. So after the service call, he had at least broken 3 parts of the microwave making it unusable and charged us for the service call. It did not seem he was actually trying to fix anything, based on how rough he was working on the poor microwave. Do not call these guys to fix anything at your house

    replace broiler element in oven

    They came,installed the part, and blew the "mother board". They took no responsibility for their mistake during the repair process and left me without the stove working at all. They still wanted me to pay for their "service" and refuse to compensate me for having broken the entire stove! I was forced to buy another appliance. Any attempt to speak with the owner of the company resulted in evasion. The owner was never available and the manager always said she would call me back. They have no intention to acknowledge their error much less compensate me! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE AT ALL!

    FRIDGE REPAIR

    JUST REPAIRED THE FRIDGE AND PAID 450 DOLLARS....FOR NOTHING....!!. NOT WORKING AT ALL LIKE IT WAS BEFOR NOT TURNING ON,THIS COMPANY IS JUST A RIPP OFF CHARGED FOR SOMETHING WHICH WAS NOT NEED IT!!! THIS MORNING I CALLED IN FOR COMPLAIN AND THEY SAYING GUY HAD AN ACCIDENT AND CANT COME TODAY!!!!FOR SURE THEY SEND THESE PEOPPLE TO SOME OTHER SERVICE CALL TO RIPP OFF MORE CUSTOMERS,,,PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS, THINK TWICE BEFOR YOU CALL THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!RIPP OFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Don’t choose this company!

    We booked Express Repair to fix our broken dishwasher. While the motor was replaced and the dishwasher worked again, as soon as we turned it on there was a flood of water in our basement right below where the dishwasher was fixed. The repair man said this was a separate issue and not related to his fixing of the dishwasher. While he gave us most of our money back from the dishwasher repair, we now have a damaged ceiling and have been back and forth with Michelle on a solution. We’ve asked for the rest of our money back (she has not returned our calls) plus asked for them to send someone to fix the ceiling. We’re told we need to go through our insurance to have an assessment which we aren’t willing to do as that will likely raise our rates. Long story short- poor technician and extremely poor customer service! Beware!

    Exorbitant charges

    Let me start by saying that they responded quickly and were able to repair our dishwasher – hence the 1 star. That's where the good news ends. We were charged $117 for a part that cost $36 on Amazon – I looked it up after he left. We were also charged $225 for 1 hour of labour – he was here for 35 minutes. Beware you will also pay an additional 3% if you use your credit card – I have never been charged this by any other company. That should be the companies responsibility if they choose to accept CC payments. I would never use this company again.

    Washing Machine Repair

    In August I called Express Repair to fix a washing machine that wouldn't drain. The technician who came said it was because of a clog which he removed. In putting the machine back together he did not reinstall the parts correctly. Water was leaking out of the base of the machine. He unassembled and reassembled again. The next day the water was still leaking. I called back the next day to explain and was told that it would stop by itself. The advertised warranty was not honoured. This week the machine was again not draining. When I called a different company and they opened the machine, I was shown where he had reassembled incorrectly and secured the water pump with a zip tie and not the correct metal band, it could have slipped at any time and caused a flood. The pump was also not properly cleared by the first tech and this caused the motor to wear out. I had to replace the motor and pay for labour again with the second company. The second company charged less, did better work and solved the issue. Express Repair was a waste of time and money.

    Poor assessment and service

    We had Express Appliance repair come to assess our fridge as it wasn’t cooling. The technician came and said it was a gas leak and that’s very hard to find and fix. He said it would cost $2300 to fix and recommended we buy another fridge. We got a second opinion from a different company (euro appliance services- they were great!). Their more-in-depth assessment found that the compressor was broken and they fixed it right away and it only cost $800 and our fridge is working again. If you want an accurate assessment for your fridge not working, don’t call this company! I’ve emailed Express Appliance repair 4 times this past week to explain what happened and get refund for the assessment since their analysis was completely wrong and they gave us terrible advice. I gave them the chance to fix this situation but they never responded. So no choice but to submit this review.

    Same Day Dryer Repair

    Was able to schedule a diagnostic test the same day, and the technician even called to confirm he could arrive earlier! Great service, explanation and had the replacement part on hand to complete the job within the hour of arrival. Thank you Konstantin for your quick, efficient, and knowledgeable service.
