    Oven Repair

    My oven would not heat up to cooking temperatures. After I emailed Peter the details for my oven, he called me to let me know the two most likely problems, gave an estimate and let me know he would bring the required parts for both possibilities. So, no wasting time to order parts and return to install. Overall, very satisfied. Peter was very professional and careful with the entire repair. Also gave me some advise on how to fix a damaged warning drawer and a small issue with my range hood. Definitely would recommend to others.

    Electric Range Error Code

    UPDATE: I had previously reviewed Modern Appliance without having met Peter. However, because my oven stopped working altogether and the trick to get it started again didn't, I had to call Peter in. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. The oven is working like a charm! Further, Peter appears to be trustworthy and a true professional. I will recommend him to anyone who needs his expertise. SIX MONTHS AGO: I had an issue with my electric range and provided the error code to three companies, asking for an approximate cost to repair. I have not heard from the third, but the first company wanted to charge me almost $100 to provide me with an estimate at my home. Because this problem had occurred once before, I pretty much knew what was wrong with my appliance. So, I was pleasantly surprised when Peter called and, after a little clarification on my part, was able to solve my problem over the phone, therefore, costing me nothing. This kind of professional knowledge and honesty, in my mind, deserves to be rewarded by writing this review. You can rest assured that should the problem or any other happen again, I will be contacting Modern Appliance first. Thanks very much, Peter.

    Very honest and reliable

    Peter is the most honest, decent and reliable service person I've ever encountered. His diagnostics are always spot on and he works hard to keep the cost down. Trust him!

    Fridge repair

    Refrigerator stop cooling on Monday 4th. I called MA and got Peter who diagnosed a defective jazz board over the phone. He wasn't sure he could have come on the Wednesday I had wanted; since others were ahead of me. But he showed up on Tuesday the fifth next day to my delight and fixed the fridge in less than half hour. Very professional, friendly guy who knows is stuff and give you tips. I would highly recommend Peter for any repair job.

    Exceptional!

    Peter was exceptional. He responded to my email about my oven, right away with some troubleshooting recommendations (which he could have come and done himself and charged me for, but didn't) and only when I couldn't fix it, did he arrange to come by--same day. He explained everything to me and answered all my "stupid" questions. He even fixed my dishwasher, while he was here. I have dealt with many repair people and I can tell you he is the best of the best. Would not hesitate to recommend and use again.

    Dishwasher Installation

    Peter is amazing. I had called to have my dishwasher door repaired and then he identified that it was leaking. I decided to purchase a new one and Peter shared his knowledge on the best brand. He did a super professional install. Don't look any further Modern Appliance is who you need for all your appliance repairs. Without HomeStar, I wouldn't have found this great service technician.

    Incredibly reasonable, helpful and friendly

    Peter helped me troubleshoot the problem ahead of time to narrow down options and save time and money. There were two possibilities, he bought both parts and only charged me for what was needed (the control board). Great, reasonably priced service. Can’t beat that.

    Dryer fixed

    My dryer made big noise and I got a quote from Peter. My grandma doesn’t speak English but it couldn’t stop Peter. My grandma changed schedule but Peter didn’t mind. Finally Peter fixed the dryer and didn’t charge any extra cost. Awesome job, Peter. My grandma said Peter was a nice guy.

    Unified washing machine

    Peter is honest and very hard working. He fixed our machine and did a great job. He knew we were in a bind to have it fixed immediately. He squeezed us into his busy schedule to be able to have it done for us as soon as possible.

    Washing machine repair

    I placed a call to this company to repair a 30 year old washing machine. I was able to explain what was wrong with the machine. Peter took the time to give me a very detailed explanation of the issues and the cost of the repair due to the age and availability of the parts. He was able to advise me on the phone and saved me the cost of a service person which he stated would charge me for the service call but there would likely not be a chance of fixing this problem without it costing me approx $600. Plus. I found him to be very honest and trustworthy. Thank you for your time and expertise.
