I highly recommend Peter from Modern Appliance. Over the years he has fixed almost everything in our house. He is professional, pleasant and punctual. What I like most about him is he gave us a great idea about how to fix our freezer without even doing a service call - and he was right. He is excellent. I won't use another company for appliance repair.

I searched HomeStars for someone to repair our dishwasher. I found Modern Appliance (Peter). According to his ratings, he sounded good. We had Peter out to troubleshoot and repair our dishwasher. He was amazing. Peter is very meticulous, neat, clean and takes pride in his work. He also knows his stuff & very priofessional. We are very happy with the work and will definately recommend Peter to others. Keep up the good work Peter!

I recently installed a 2 ton A/C unit in my home. My home is approx. 65 years old and the duct work that the home was equiped with did have adequate air returns. Modern Appliances install the A/C unit in a timely fashion and retrofitted 2 additonal air returns to provide me an effiecient and effective A/C environment. Additionally the my Sub-Zero fridgerator had not been operating propertly. Modern appliances diagnosed the problem and identified that the compresor and Thermostat need replacing. The following day my refridgerator was in perfect working order and the work completed was very affordable.. Thanks Peter at Modern Appliances!

Saved me a service call -- THANKS!!! Detail: my refrigerator was struggling to stay cold -- MA knew my model right away and told me to vacuum the dust from the condenser coil underneath the unit. It worked perfectly and everything is back to normal.

Modern Appliance prevailed where others had failed in fixing a persistent frosting issue with our Fridge. First repair person I sourced from Kijiji (first mistake) they came out and defrosted it and said, "I have no clue what's wrong you have to call Whirlpool and get them to send someone out." Frustrated we turned to home stars and enter Modern Appliance. From the phone call I was impressed with the knowledge and professionalism of the technician. He had a good idea when I described the problem and brought the parts that he thought would be necessary to complete the repair. The technician was prompt polite and courteous at our home and fixed it right for a very fair price. Teo months later the problem has not returned and we are very happy. I would not hesitate recommending Modern Appliance to anyone! Don't bother looking elsewhere these guys are THE BEST in the BUSINESS!

Peter came out to repair my 10 year old built-in Kitchenaid fridge. He diagnosed the problem right away and told me that it's unlikely the fridge can be fixed completely unless the sealed cooling system was totally replaced. He suggested that I start looking for a replacement, or spend $1600 on parts alone to fix the old fridge. I took his advice and bought a new one. The amount he billed me for the service call and parts needed to diagnose the problem was very reasonable . I recommend MA highly and will use them for all my appliance repair.

The gas range was not performing properly and emited a gas smell when cooking on it. The range came with a home we recently acquired and we were unfamiliar with gas ranges. I contacted Modern Appliance through their website on Saturday and received a call back the same day to set up an appointment for Wednesday at 8:am. Peter showed up ontime and soon diagnosed the problem as the igniter. The part was replaced and the range was now operating the way it was designed to. Peter then took the time to explain in detail to us the full operation of the range including various cooking tips that don't come with the manual. Peter also gave us advice on the various other appliances in the home as to their operation and how to save us money by avoiding future problems with the performance of minor maintenance. After the range was repaired Peter ( at no charge) hooked up our new natural gas barbeque and made sure it was operational, and that we understood the saftey precautions to take with this type of appliance. As we originally found Modern Appliances on Homestars website we also can now recommend their service .

On the May long weekend our freezer went crazy and started melting things. I called Modern Appliance based on the reviews here. They called back in less than an hour, asked me some questions, and explained the likely problem, then gave me instructions on how to get the freezer working again for the weekend until the correct part could be installed. This was such a lifesaver, and amazing service on a long weekend!! Peter was punctual, and also took the care to make sure the correct sensors were installed with the defrost heater, and spent a few extra minutes to ensure that the freezer was working correctly after the repair. Price was reasonable, I would highly recommend Modern Appliance.

fridge stopped working 1 morning, had to go to work in couple hours i called peter and he told me what to do, to get it working temporarily until he can come and fix it properly. my ingliss fridge has a new best friend,and i'll recommend this guy to anyone
