Sold on the wrong waterproofing solution

Unfortunately the fix they suggested for my damp basement turned out to not have been the cause of the issue. I spent $5,000 on having the side of my house dug out, and new weeping title installed. However, in the next rain storm the basement flooded, exactly the same as before. Long story short, the issue ended up being with the roof, and the water was running down in between my bricks into the basement. Obviously I was gutted about spending that money, however, at least I have added new weeping title that should help in the future... wrong. Fast forward another couple of months and the basement still isn't dry, and upon closer inspection it is due to the basement slab only being an inch thick. this mean digging up the slab, and laying a new one, however, this is going to be lower than the original one, rendering my lovely new weeping title useless. In essence I spent $5,000 on a useless procedure, a band aid as it were, on a terribly deep wound. Industry experts should be able to diagnose the issue, not take a shot in the dark and costing me $5,000.

    Answer from pro:

Hello, Unfortunately as we do not know your identity it makes it extremely difficult for us to reach out to help you. We have circled this issue around the office to see if anyone had any recollections of this problem, but it makes it very hard with so little information provided and no time frame mentioned, as this job could of been completed many years ago. As you know, we do not charge for our estimates or consultations. We only gather information on what you provide us and what we can see and then provide the estimate. There is no perfect science to finding water especially when the basement looks dry when we visit. At times there may be a combination of problems and not one simple solution. We do our best to give the best and most affordable solution from what we see. In the end the customer also signs off in what they think will work. Our office is open from 9am-5pm at 4101 Steeles Ave W, and our phone number is 416-747-1920. We have staff dedicated to helping, so please feel free to give us a call or drop by and we can help you with this matter. Thank you.

    Basement Waterproofing (Exterior)

I would not hesitate to recommend Rick Deagazio - he is professional, extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. He will provide an honest assessment of what the issues are and what needs to be done to remedy the situation. I trust him to provide sound advice and would recommend him to family, friends and clients.

    Basement renovation

My basement was constantly leaking from the pipes and water was getting into my basement, a friend recommend this company and I first spoke to Richard Grieg, who was a very nice guy and gave good advice in what to do. The workers were very polite and got the job done. I definitely will be recommending this company to family and friends

    Internal Drainage System

Chris I and his crew did a great job. They were here for 3 days on time every morning and worked hard throughout the day. They were respectful of the house, trying to minimize the dirt and dust as much as possible and did a great job. I'm very pleased with the finished product. There ended up being considerable more labour involved as the amount of concrete that needed to be removed was much more than anticipated. Although this should have increased the price of the job substantially, Chris I maintained the original quote and I was not charged any additional fees. Would highly recommend.

OK work, some flaws found after, HORRIBLE customer service

I had a number of quotes from a number of waterproofing companies and, after looking at the quotes and the proposed work, I found RCC's solution to make the most sense, even though it was the most expensive. I had great communication with RCC leading up to the job, and RCC seemed to do a very good job when waterproofing 1/4 of my house. Fast forward 1 year. RCC never came back to re-level/tamp my soil. I had 1 sinkhole. I ended up having my back yard redone, so that was sort of addressed (I hope) when the work was done. Fast forward 1 more year. I have a contractor over to replace my rear door and fix the threshold. My threshold is rotting. He says that it's because the waterproofing wasn't caulked by RCC and water's pooling at the base of my door. One of his workers, who had worked for RCC in projects in the past, agreed that the job wasn't finished properly. I had to pay my contractor to fix the threshold and seal the waterproofing. Since RCC offers a 25 year (I believe) warrantee on their work, I contacted RCC about this. Also, there was a piece of crappy looking mud/concrete that they slapped on the house that always looked sloppy. I spoke to someone at RCC, gave my #, no one called back. I called a week later and was forwarded to some guy. He was pretty rude. He ended up forwarding me to my project manager. I left a message. No call back. I've just emailed them again about the problem so I can get their opinion and be reimbursed for their sloppy work. We'll see if this gets resolved. If not, I may have to take them to small claims court. And just a word to the wise: the person who worked for RCC in the past told me that RCC just contracts out. i.e. they hire non-RCC people to do their work. And he said that RCC is known for crappy post-work customer service and for being sloppy.

Waterproofing basement and installing new window wells

The RCC team is very responsive and competitive. I have used their services now for three different homes that were wet and musty. In two cases, the waterproofing was done on the inside and the third job was done on the perimeter of the house. All of the basements are now very dry and have no musty smell. The job is done on time and exactly as quoted. The team is a pleasure to deal with and any unforeseen problems (tree stumps) are dealt with without skipping a beat and impacting me. I would not use any other company.

    OUTSIDE BASEMENT WATERPROOFING

Suprise, this company called and showed up when they said they would. Unlike others I had called. Justin Stokes was my first contact who explained all the details of the job including the time frame and the cost. The crew was wonderful explaining what they were doing and why. Everything was done in the time frame they quoted. Everything was cleaned and in better shape then when they started, even a follow up to ensure my satisfaction. Would recommend this company in a heart beat.

Basement Foundation Walls - Sealing cracks

We discovered water damage in our basement and found the source to be cracks in the foundation cement wall. We found RCC Waterproofing's ad in one of the mail flyers and a friend also recommended them. In one day, with little disruption, RCC workers dug up the area by the outside wall, sealed the cracks and put everything back together....no leaks since. They were very professional and I'd certainly use them again.

    Exterior (basement) waterproofing

Jamie Hallett is professional and knowledgeable. He provides practical solutions and doesn't look to maximize a waterproofing job. He listens and then recommends reasonable step solutions where appropriate. We did one side of our house with a full external job. We have been very happy with the results so far. Reliable and timely work by Jamie and his team.

    Exterior crack repair

After getting other quotes to repair 2 cracks in our foundation, I decided to go ahead with RCC Waterproofing. Justin Stokes arrived at my house to assess the situation and provided the best solution. His crew arrived on time and were pleasant to deal with. They were efficient, worked very hard and cleaned up nicely afterwards. No wonder this company has been going strong for nearly a century! I am now at ease knowing that the repair is guaranteed for 25 years and highly recommend RCC Waterproofing for your waterproofing needs. Keep up the great work guys!
