    HVAC rooftop installation

i had a new HVAC unit installed on the roof of my townhouse. it was a very difficult project involving a crane and manouvering around some old trees. george and his team were great and the job went smoothly. they hooked everything up and checked back to make sure things worked properly and when the filter was missing, kevin went and got some. job well done.

    Answer from pro:

    Furnace and Air Conditionner

My wife and I recently moved to Toronto from BC. A few weeks ago, we decided to upgrade our heating and A/C. I contacted 3 companies and arranged for quotes from two. A quick look at HomeStars convinced me not to bother with the third. In the end, we selected Spring Home Heating. The experience, from beginning to end, was pleasant. It was nice calling Spring Heating and having my call answered by a company employee who lives here in Toronto. One of the other companies uses an American call centre, while the other was difficult to connect with and sounded as if it also used a call centre. When I called Spring, Cheryl answered the phone and was able to answer a host of questions about the company and its services. Cheryl put me in touch with Cy who recommended that I do a diagnostic first to ensure that the A/C really needed to be replaced. I then called Cheryl again, who booked a diagnostic for my A/C and assured me that any fees from that call would be applied against future purchase. Kevin, the Spring Heating service technician arrived on time and quickly found that the A/C was completely empty of refrigerant. He said the unit could be repaired, but seeing the unit used an older, expensive refrigerant we decided to upgrade. We had already obtained one quote so had a good idea of what our choices and costs would be. At this time we had not yet made up our minds about which company to use. So, we contacted Cheryl and arranged for a meeting with Cy. Again, it was nice having my calls answered quickly by people who live and work here in Toronto. Cy arrived as scheduled and spent a couple of hours with us talking about the furnace and A/C we already had and about units that might better fill our needs. Cy recommended slightly larger and more expensive units than the competition, but the reasons for his recommendations were completely logical. I asked about an even more expensive option, but Cy assured me that the larger unit I asked about would not be needed. Cy also said that the smaller units suggested by the competition would work well, but would not be as efficient. Cy also caught a few things that I knew about, but that the other company had missed. Small things that would have added to the cost and that had to be done for a proper install. Anyhow, we selected the Lennox Elite XC14-024 A/C and Signature SLP98UH furnace and less than a week later Tiger and Wilson arrived with the units and a stainless steel liner for my water heater. Tiger and Wilson were polite, efficient and took any concerns I had about the installation very seriously. The install was not an easy one and the two worked through 35 degree heat to get the job done and done well. Originally, Cy said we might have to place the A/C in a different area that would have impeded any expansion to our garden and deck. I spoke to the crew about the location and after a few measurements and a bit of tree pruning, Tiger and Wilson were able to position the new larger A/C unit in the same location as the failed unit. They were also able to direct the furnace intake and exhaust stacks away from our narrow driveway and towards the fence on the opposite side of the house. Losing any driveway access was not an option and the crew came through to make us happy. The install took all day at the end of which Tiger and Wilson did a great clean up. The only thing that was not perfect was a silicone caulking seal around the new stainless steel chimney liner. The seal is good and will block out any rain water but it isn’t pretty to look at. But then, who else but me would ever look at a caulking seal. The Spring Heating crew did a great job! Cy also recommended a duct cleaning company. Their crew was also excellent. I will try to write a review about that company as soon as I get a chance. I can honestly say that Spring Heating is great company, does great work and gives advice you can count on. To Kevin, Tiger, Wilson, Cy, Cheryl and the crew at Spring Heating: Thank you for a great experience.

AC not working - New AC Purchased.

I called Spring Home because of the good reviews on HomeStars and the perfect status with BBB. They did meet the time window for the first visit. The Second visit was right on time and all the work was completed quite fast. The technicians were very professional and tidy. I would recommend them for a new AC and maintenance.

    Ductless Air Conditioning Installation

We had Cy and his team install a new ductless air conditioning unit on the third floor of our older house in Riverdale. He was very accessible and knowledgeable about our alternatives. Once we decided, the installation was a breeze and we didn't even have to be around when they set everything up. In addition to the new unit, they also fixed a few issues with our furnace, including addressing a nasty leak that had been causing us a headache for a while! We were very impressed by their service and competence and we would recommend to friends and family.

    Answer from pro:

Hi David, Nice home !, the man cave upstairs will be much more comfortable with the ductless. Thank you for posting the review !

    Ductless A/C Installation

The team at Spring was very professional and flexible. I called 5 companies for quotes and they were only one of two to call back. They gave an in person estimate within two days. They showed up a little late for installation but were very accomodating around our schedule when we had to leave in the evening. They came back a few days later to walk us through the system. Excellent service and we are very pleased with our Mitsubishi unit.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Chris, Thank you for choosing us to install the ductless units. I am glad we were able to come back to explain to you on how to run the units. I am sure you and the family are enjoying the house now in cooling mode. don't forget ...it is a heat pump.

    Air conditioning and installation

The estimate was reasonable. The installers were personable and when the job was more difficult than initially estimated they stayed and worked late until the installation was complete. When our initial rebate was rejected the office followed up with an inquiry on our behalf.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Leslie, each job is unique. since our technicians are our employees, they will take whatever time they need to complete the job as per your expectation. I am glad we met your expectation. Thank you !

    AC Installation

Cy was quick to respond to my request for information. I was looking to replace a 20 year old Keeprite unit. Cy was very knowledgeable and helped explain and describe the importance of the installation process and also provided factual, non-biased information about the various manufacturers. Cy was trustworthy and honest. The installation went very smoothly. The guys did a great job explaining what they needed to do. They were professional. They pointed out some issues we had with previous work and did they corrected some of these with the new installation. The Lennox XC14 has been great so far. I'd gladly recommend Spring Home to friends and family.

    Answer from pro:

Hi Peter, Thank you for taking the time to post this review and for choosing us to do the installation. take care and looking forward to help your family and friends.

    Installation of new A/C

We were leaving for vacation and trying to finalize the selection of an air conditioner before we left. Cy was very responsive and helpful in answer all our questions via email before scheduling an in-person meeting. It was great to work with someone willing to respond in the p.m to our needs so that we could leave without having to worry about this over the holiday! I received a reminder the day before the installation and the installation team called me when they departed to give me a heads up that they were on their way. When the team arrived, they walked through the site, identified the work plan and got to work right away. We are in the middle of renovations and the house was fairly chaotic (and I am 7 months pregnant) - the team was very considerate and was great about working around the chaos and helping shift things around and clean up after they were done. We had a few complications because of the layout of our finished basement and closets and the team needed feedback from our contractor prior to finalizing certain aspects of the job - they were patient in waiting for our contractor who was running late and after a few minor differences in opinions with our contractor, I was happy to have the project done professionally and with minimal damage to our drywall. The team walked my husband and I through the new equipment once completed and gave us some value added advice on how the system would work. Overall, great service.

    Answer from pro:

New Furnace and Hot Water Tank

We were in need for a new hot water tank and consulted Home Stars for contractors. Picked a few of the top rated but Spring Home was the best. Despite being very busy with A/C projects, Sam made several trips to our home to consult on best alternative for new venting requirement for the HW tank. Also decided on a new furnace. Installation was done on the promised date and very clean and professional. Highly recommend.
