    Clogged floor drain

It's easy to say someone did a great job and that everything is wonderful. While I am extremely satisfied with the work that was done, my comments should be viewed in the context of the fact that it did not necessarily start out that way. There was an initial miscommunication regarding when someone would be coming. When I called to see what had happened, I was quickly assured that it would be set right, and that someone would be there at MY earliest convenience. Fast forward a day to courteous and personable Craig arriving at my door exactly when promised. Not only did he quickly identify the problem, he thoughtfully tackled an unexpected wrinkle in the plumbing works. As a teacher, I was very appreciative of his clear explanation (and hand-drawn diagram) of the challenges of our previous-owner- multi-renovated-DIY-plumbing disaster and provided some options for a cost effective solution that we could look into in the future if we decided to address the bigger issues that our system faces. It was an educational discussion, but there was absolutely NO pressure to sign up to have the work done now. I was also impressed by his problem solving abilities and wanted to acknowledge that we are lucky to have people like Craig realizing the value of working in this trade. He went the extra mile (or in this case 45 feet beyond the minimum required distance to snake) to ensure that not only the immediate problem was addressed, but that future issues might be avoided. If the other team members of WaterWorks are as effective as Craig, then this company is doing a much needed job of elevating the perception of the plumbing trade. So the next time you have a plumbing problem, call the company with a DUCK on the side of their truck, not a baby. What do babies know anything about plumbing anyway? : ) I would easily recommend WaterWorks to anyone. Thank you Craig and the WaterWorks team!

    Blocked kitchen sink

Our sink backed up to overflowing, a cause for great concern. I called Waterworks first thing in e morning, and was greeted by a pleasant voice on the other end of the line. Josh arrived at our house the same day, snaked out the drain and told us what was the cause of our problem. Friendly service, and reliable. I would definitely use waterworks again.

    clogged drains

Wow what a difference! My husband and I have had drains blocked in our home for the last 65days, 3 children (all in school) 2 dogs and a cat. Day 1 the first attempt was the old home remedy, we tried to snake it ourselves (you got to be kidding me, not fun) Day 2 neither one of us could get the day off from work (still had a couple of hours on the rental snake when we got home, no go! That night we called around for plumbers, after several calls we booked an appointment for the very next day my husband was able to take 1/2 day off so we set up the appointment for before 12pm. DAY 3 I probably don't have to tell you what happened. At 10:40am they called me to tell me that they were not able to make that time that we had to take a window between 1-3pm, ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Well my husband had to go back to work. Drains are still blocked. Had to call different plumbing companies finally booked an appointment (DAY 4 I stayed home this time but I had the day off so it wasn't so bad. AGAIN NO SHOW! When I called I wasn't even on their "call board" DAY 5 it is now Friday morning I'm at work and calling plumbing companies I spoke with the office at Water Works and they assured me that they would have someone out between 6 - 9pm at 6:45 they called and said Josh is on the way, 1/2 hour later he was there my drains were clear and we got back on with our lives. All I can say is WATER WORKS works for me!!!!! The moral of the story, is call a reputable company, in the long run it works out to be cheaper in my case anyways. Thanks again Water Works

    Laundry tub faucet and valves

I made 3 calls from the Yellow Pages; and picked one plumbing company. $135 and 2 months later, the slow leak returned ($135 was to replace the "seat" in the faucet). Since the Home Service Club doesn't service the Durham Region (are you reading HSC?), I relied on the ranking of Homestars and picked Waterworks (didn't read all the reviews like I should have). I came across Homestars from an article about venture capital and new startups in Canada. $60 for the plumbing technician to come out, and was credited toward the total of $1004.20 to replace faucet + 2 new valves were added. The job took about 3 hours. I called around later and the "low-ball" prices were $300-400 for the same job. I may be comparing apples to oranges; but it cost $1500 to replace a transmission in my Mazda. The work took all day, and I had to wait 5 days for the used part to be removed and shipped to the dealership - but they gave me a free rental while I waited. It's a lot of money, but the transmission guys charge about the same, so dealer would get my repeat business

    Plugged Dishwasher

Saturday at 9pm my dishwasher plugged up and stopped working. Michael was over within 30 minutes and repaired the clog as well as my attempts to take apart the dishwasher. It has been working perfectly since then. I was also taught how to do the proper maintenance on my dishwasher every few months so that I do not end up in the situation again. Thank you Micheal! Would absolutely recommend Waterworks!!!!

    Sumop Pump Replacement

I found The Water Works using google and I couldn't be happier. The time from when I placed the call to when they arrived was amazing and I appreciated the tight window provided for the technician's arrival. Josh from The Water Works came to asses the work and came back on a subsequent visit with all the necessary parts and completed the job in record time. Josh was extremely professional and courteous. Thank you Josh for your amazing service!!!!!!

    Plug Drains

Tried for weeks to clear two drains in an apartment. Both sink and washer. They got alot more pluged so the toilet then started to get pluged. This promblem was attacked with draino ($60 worth) then a snake was used on both the drains. Nothing was able to fix the promblem. So I called in a proffesional (Michael From Water Works) It took less then a 1/2 hour and and the drains work better than they have in 5 years. Thanks Michael From Water Works, Mike Boudreau Europe Bound www.EuropeBound.com

Install cold and hot water shutoff valves

I needed 2 water shutoff valves installed under my sink for cold and hot water. Basically, shut off water supply, cut the pipes, install 2 new valves. Provided service was prompt and efficient. I've had some discontent initially because the price was not quoted to me until I was charged for service visit. However, I've got a good follow up call from Water Works, I've explained to them what the issue was, hopefully in the future they will be providing ballpark price estimations before charging a fee for service visit. Because they have followed up with me and asked what could they do to improve their services I'm ready to give them a good rate now. This company takes customer satisfaction seriously. Cheers!

    Answer from pro:

Hi Andri, First off i want to tank you for your business and using our company and sharing your review here on homestars. We stopped doing ballpark pricing a few years back, just because the majority of our clients would ask for things they did not really need. Because of our high level of expertise we can very often find less expensive and better solutions for their needs. As you can see we really strive for 100% customer satisfaction and you were very decent to work with. Good luck with you home renovation.
