I am looking for an experienced contractor, preferably with both carpentry/drywall and electrical knowledge, or a team that covers both trades. This is not a standard TV mount job.
The wall above the fireplace was previously a pass-through opening between two rooms. It has since been closed in, but the wall material is likely basic drywall over a rough frame and may not be structurally adequate to hold a heavy motorized TV mount. The selected mount is a MantelMount MM815 motorized pull-down unit, which supports TVs up to 115 lbs. The wall must be properly reinforced, likely with a plywood backing or blocking between studs, before any mount hardware is installed.
Once reinforced, I need the wall surface finished cleanly, mudded, sanded, and painted so it looks like it was always part of the original wall. No visible patching or rough edges.
On the electrical side, there is currently a single duplex outlet in the area. It needs to be upgraded or a second outlet added to properly support the motorized mount and associated equipment. Anyone touching the electrical must be licensed and insured.
The job also includes full cable management. There are currently several loose cables in the area that I want routed cleanly and out of sight wherever possible.
To summarize the scope:
Wall reinforcement behind the mount location, drywall finishing and painting, electrical outlet upgrade or addition, motorized TV mount installation (MantelMount MM815), and cable management.
